Okay, so for those peeks I promised...here we go!

Graduation

I've been thinking about graduation a bit early this year. At first I was thinking...wow! For the first time in years I don't have a high school graduation open house to plan. And I don't. But I do have someone graduating from college!

My oldest son will graduate from Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa, with a degree in Engineering in the first week of May. We are very proud of him and he really is such a wonderful young man! His kindness and fun personality are quick to draw people in. We have just gotten very good news this week! He was accepted at Iowa State in the graduate program AND they are paying for his 5 year degree AND they hired him as a researcher AND he will get paid on top of that! We are very happy for him as he begins this new chapter in life.

I also have a very dear friend whose daughter is graduating from high school. I knew I wanted to make something for her, so when Crop Chocolate sent me a box of goodies I knew exactly what I would do with it.

I added little post it notes to show her what type of photos to add on each page. And little hints on how to journal a little. I will add some adhesive and a black pen to her gift box.

I wanted her school colors, which are maroon and gold, but not so 'school colored' that it wasn't cute. I think it turned out really well! More up close peeks tomorrow!

What Christ has done for me, as represented by Easter Sunday is beyond my words. I am praying that you and your family are blessed today. I saw a quote the other day that resonated with me and I will leave you with this:

No one should ever be confused who you are living your life for or who you love!

Just Because

I love making cards! I'm not nearly as creative as my friend Carin, but I love making them. And I admit....I hate buying them. In the amount of time I would spend picking one out I could have made one. Plus they are about $5 now! And what a great way to use up my kits.

Here are a few quick and simple cards that I created using bits and pieces leftover from a graduation project. Having three boys myself, I really love that the birthday card has more of a masculine feel to it. Perfect!

For the Love of the Game

I love having friends over to scrap with me. We get more done some days than others, but there is never a dull moment. This day it was just Heather and myself scrapping. One of our favorite things is to eat chocolate and watch movies while we scrap and this day she brought the Kevin Costner movie "For the Love of the Game" with her. I was working on a layout of Wes playing soccer and suddenly realized that I had my title. It was perfect! My favorite thing about Wes' games was never the win, but that he played with his heart....for the love of the game!

These Are The Moments...

We want to remember forever! When our boys each turned 10, Grandma & Grandpa Tacoma would let them choose anywhere they would like to go for dinner. Wes chose The Outback Steakhouse (great choice I might add).

I'll Bet You Are Wondering....

...if I suddenly had a lot of free time on my hands? I mean isn't this the 5th post in a row? I mean in consecutive days? Well my sweet friend and Design Teammate at Scrapmuse, Kimmy, told me a little something about creating blog posts set to post later. Yeah, I knew it could be done....but never knew how. Now I do! TAda!



I was frustrated waiting for my "Stickles" to get to the tip of my bottle the other day. I knew they were 'supposed' to get stored upside down, but didn't have anything that would work. So I decided to try to make my own. I had a corrugated box handy (ready to go out in the garbage), so I punched a little hole in the top of the box...then made the hole a bit bigger to fit the cap of the bottle. I painted the top of the box and covered the sides with paper. I put a label on the ribbon and finished it off.

It works great and looks pretty cute too! I feel so GREEN!
