Fabulous Friday Challenge

It's Friday and we all know what that means... another Fabulous Friday Challenge over at Frosted Designs!! This week we are asking you to work with one color.... that's right... this week is a Monochromatic Challenge!!
We have a wonderful sponsor this week.... Craft Your Passion!

I did some cards for this challenge.  I remembered a thank you card I had made a few months back and always loved it.  So I took those same pink colors and made a few more in a variety of styles.  I really like how they turned out.

Don't forget about our Sketch Challenge here:

I hope you have a weekend filled with creativity!!!!

Cue Twilight Zone Music....

Well I had a post.....that seems to have disappeared!  I'm sure I hit a wrong button somewhere, but it definitely never showed up.  Bummer!

So now I have DOUBLE good news to share with you!!!!  All is well!  All is wonderful!  And I will be having a lot to share with you in the next couple of weeks. :)

First let me share this....I am now officially a LUCKY GIRL!  That's right, I'm a part of the Lucky Girl Crafts Design Team.  I was lucky enough to find this fantastic club of Jessica's last year.  I'm not exactly sure how it happened, but I think I was doing a blog hop....and someone was hosting two hops similtaneously.  So I cross hopped and found Lucky Girl Crafts......and then won a FAB-U-LOUS kit!!!

I truly love LGC kits!  I've had a lot of kits over the years and she really packs a lot into them.  Seriously, a LOT!  Jessica mixes the papers up, adds some fantastic embellishments and then tops it off with some amazing inspiration & a bunch of fun!

Speaking of fun.......we have some fun coming up for all of you!
Be sure to watch for our Blog Hop the first 3 days of February, but for those of you wanting a little more information about the kits:

Kits retail for $29.99 (single kit) or we offer 3, 6 and 12 month subscriptions for great discounts. The longer the subscription, the less expensive your kit is!

Lucky Girl Crafts kits are available on a limited basis - right now, with pre-orders and subscriptions, I have just 10 more of these left.

Subscriptions ship out in the next few days, and all other preorders paid by the end of the month will ship out next Monday.

He's My Brother!

I love this picture of my oldest son and my youngest son.  I don't have them in the same room at the same time very often anymore.......there are a few states between them now.  So this is just priceless to me!

A few months back I won a fun Pink Kit from Sweet Peach Crop Shop and I had such fun playing with it!  Well I still had a little left and they threw out a sketch challenge......
And here is my take on it:

Meet the Parents

We had our very own "meet the parents" day back in September.  Our son met a girl at college a few states away and it's a lot harder to get to know them or their family that way.

Thankfully she is from Michigan, so her family lives here.  Which means that our son Andrew & Christina will come back from time to time to visit both families.  I'm happy to say, they are now engaged and we couldn't be more pleased.  She's a gem and we are enjoying the 'getting to know you' part.......both her and her family.

We spent the saturday evening of Labor Day weekend with her family at a campground on Lake Michigan and this layout is a few of those photos.

I used the Becky Fleck Page Maps sketch here:
To create this layout:

I know it doesn't show up super well in the photos, but the hearts are popped with a little Helmar Scrap Dots (love, love, love that stuff!!!!) and they are dangling by some stitching lines as I also love to put stitching on my pages.

I love this Crate Paper that I pulled from an older kit!  I think I just needed to work on something fun & bright after it has been so dark here.

Blessings to you this New Year!

How About a Quote?

This week at Frosted Designs we are challenging you to use a quote.  I love writing down quotes, but I so often put them on random scraps and bits of paper.  The other day I was cleaning out a drawer and found this one that I love.......

The Glory of God is a human being fully alive.
And here is the layout I created with it.
One of the best things about kids is that they are so full of life!  I saw a little girl at church the other day and she was up front during worship and twirling.  I smiled to myself and thought, "when did I stop twirling?"  When did I become too aware of people around me?  Oh to be that childlike once again!

I also used the Tuesday Sketch at Frosted Designs as well.  Check out the awesome sketch that Debbie created and be sure to enter yours as well.  All the details are in this post:  Sketch Post
To find out more and see additional quote inspiration, please check this post:  Quotes at Frosted Designs.  I hope you will join us this week!   Oh!  And did I mention there are prizes involved?   Be sure to take a look at the right side bar at Frosted Designs to see what the awesome prizes are that will be awarded! :)

Thankful!

Crop Suey issued a challenge:  We challenge you to use the following word on your scrappy project/layout/card or whatever you choose to do!

*family*

This is also my entry in Scrapbook & Cards Today blog November challenge from a Becky Fleck sketch.

Journaling reads:  There is always so much to be thankful for!  We live in freedom and abundance.  We have more than enough.

This year we had our Thanksgiving dinner with the Tacoma side of the family at Roy & Marilyn's house.  The food and the fellowship was simply amazing!

One extra thing we had to be thankful for was the engagement of Andrew & Christina...our future daughter.
