I Love My Life! Challenge Winner

We've had some amazing *creativity* going on over at Scrapmuse this month! So many challenges to get those ideas flowing in your mind. And the best part is that you can choose whether you do one or you do them all....there really is something for everyone!

The challenge I put before everyone was to challenge you to remember to be thankful for the little things that make life good. For you that may mean a significant loved one, or simply that first sip of coffee in the morning. Whatever it is, I'd like you to scrap about it.

Here's what they needed to include in their layout (any size layout):

*Please use any 3 (or more) of the following colors: pink, red, brown, black, white or cream
*Include a die cut or punch
*Use a 2" x 12" strip of paper
*Add some dimension to your page (use a pop dot, layering or any technique that adds dimension)
*And you MUST journal!! :)

This is the sample that I did:

Journaling reads: I love my first cup of coffee in the morning. It's not so much the taste & the smell (which I love) but it's about the moment. The pause. It's a new fresh start. Every day.

There were so many wonderful entries!!! The layouts were absolutely gorgeous and I know you will want to see all of them in this thread at Scrapmuse.

But without further adieu...........our winner...........by random drawing..........is Rimalou (Rita!)! Congratulations, it truly is a beautiful layout about friendship. Definitely something that puts joy in our day!

Let me give you a peek of her layout:

Journaling Reads (tucked in behind photo): I am glad I have these wonderful ladies to call my best friends! Not only are they my scrapping buddies but more importantly, they are friends I can count on. My day is never complete until I get to talk to at least one of them. It’s always a fun day when we’re together. I Hope this special bond continues until we have gray hairs and wrinkles! LOL!

The fun and challenge continue over at Scrapmuse all month long, so there is still time to join in the fun! :)

Look Around....

What are some everyday type of ordinary items that can be utilized in your creativity? I have seen some great tutorials on how to make paper flowers, ribbon flowers, cupcake liner flowers and more! Not just to be used on scrapbook layouts, but also on headbands and necklaces too. Really cool stuff! Add a little sparkly mist or some bling and dress them up even more!

Now that you are thinking outside that box.....what else can you use? How about the packaging from your supplies? The prima packaging is really cute and so are many of the other packages I've been getting lately. How about the box the come shipped in? That was my inspiration here. Try pulling apart your cardboard box and using the cool texture of the corrugated cardboard to throw a little paint down......a little mist...maybe some texture paste. Then build your next layout on that and see where it takes you! :)

Friends.....

It seems like often the people we spend the most time with are the people we never have photos of. On one hand that is good......we live in the moment. But for the scrapbook....not so good.

We had some time to visit with some great friends late last year and while these are the only two photos we took (and they don't sum up all we did), I am so grateful to have these pictures!

This layout is my take on this sketch at Sketchy Thursdays blog:
